I don’t know about your house, but at my house it seems that no matter how hard I try to keep games together, they still end up scattered to the four winds. So when this happens I take the orphaned pieces to my studio and turn them into works d’art.
This piece d’art is a deck of mismatched and worn out playing cards turned mini album. I sewed onto a few cards using my sewing machine. I adhered photo mats and journaling spots to some and just drew journaling lines on others. I distressed the edges of the cards with ink and splattered white paint on some of the finished cards.
Then I used the back cover of paper stacks, cut to the size of the cards, as covers for my mini album. (You can also use cereal boxes). I painted, distressed and splattered them as well. I punched holes for my binding, and used jute to bind my book. Now I have a fun mini album made from “trash”.
