Chalk Couture – Courage Canvas Bag

Have Courage & Be Kind

This is a small canvas bag that I had in my stash.  I used the Have Courage transfer and Garden Herb, Peacock, Currant Jam and Bright White Chalkology Paste.

I did some blending with the White and Currant Jam in the middle of the words.  After I applied the two colors of paste I just used my finger to blend the two colors.  You have to be quick about it because you need to blend and remove the transfer before the paste dries.  These transfers are silk screen transfers (think silk screen printing on tee-shirts) so you don’t want your pastes or inks drying in the screen area.  I also used the Garden Herb and Peacock on the flowers and greenery around the edge.

If you saw one of my past posts about a journal that I did you know that chalks are semi-permanent.  The paste and inks can be used on pretty much anything with proper prep and sealing.

So for this bag I used a Krylon spray and sprayed both the outside and inside of the bag.  I will only spot wash this.  I don’t think it’s advisable to put it in the washer.  However if you use inks and heat set the inks you can machine wash.
