Valentine Card and Envelope

Here is a Valentine card.  I used printed cork, burlap and did some machine sewing around the edge of the card.  I did a lot of experimenting on this card but it turned out pretty cool.  Valentine Card SuppliesHere is a photo of some of the supplies you’ll need.  Any kind of heart shape will work for this card.  You’ll also need a corner rounder, a border punch, ink and stamp of choice (I used Close to my Heart chocolate ink and stamp set D1283 Say it in Style).

Tracing Template onto CardstockTrace your template onto a folded piece of cardstock but be careful not to cut the fold.Don't Cut on FoldI used my sewing machine to add some stitching to the card front before I attached it to the card base.Sewing Machine Stitching on CardI made a “candy” heart out of clay for the flower center.Making a "Candy" Heart Out of Clay "Candy" Heart Done

I put it all together then added some Cotton Candy Stickles on the arrow.Completed Valentine CardThen I made a custom envelope to go with the card.

Making the Envelope on the Punch BoardI used the We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board to make my envelope but you can also use the Martha Stewart score board as well (the large one that has the envelope triangle on the back).

Putting the Envelope TogetherI added a liner to my envelope because it’s so easy to add one when you’re making an envelope.

The Completed Valentine Card and EnvelopeThe completed custom card and envelope.  So pretty.

Here is the video for the card.

and of course, I decorated the back of the card because it’s often ignored and why shouldn’t we embellish the backs of cards and albums.

Magic Card

This card is so much fun to give.  You pull the tag out and reveal the magic.  The stamped image is magically colored.  This makes people say “How did you do this?”  Can you figure it out?  Leave a comment if you can or if you need help figuring it out.

Mother of the Bride Survival Kit

I made this kit for a friend of mine whose daughter is getting married this summer.

This is a simple monochromatic card with a quilled flower.  The camera doesn’t show the glimmer mist though.

Bookmark Card

Here is a simple card.

Photo of Bookmark Card

The inside flap is perforated so it can be torn off and used as a bookmark.

The card can be made in any size.  This one is 3″ x 3″.  The bookmark is 1 1/2″ x 3″.

To make the perforations I used one of those sewing wheels with the spiky things (sorry I don’t know what they’re called).

A needle or paper piercer can also be used.  If you’re like me and can’t create a straight line to save your life you can use a ruler too.
